With well over 59,900 square miles of space with 35% of it covered by forest and loaded with over 480 different kinds of birds with running freshwater and saltwater alike, I think I can say I have the most unique studio of all!
My studio is the entire “outdoors”. Built by the Hands of God.
Nature - away from chaos, everyday pressures, stress and deadlines. To communicate and adore all that God has created.
I like to work with no time limits, nobody watching, no questions and no phones.
I like to concentrate on my surroundings and stay away from distractions.
Concentrating and relaxing all at the same time.
With photography I can do this. It is extremely satisfying.
Wildlife photographers should have the natural ability to adapt to new environments.
My nature is a bit reclusive so shooting wildlife is the best fit for me.
The process of photographing wildlife (especially birds) forces me to connect with their world. Meaning, you have to slow down and observe and often wait for long periods of time before getting that promising shot.
Watching bird life helps me to so appreciate their simple intelligent skills and the power it has to remove me from a fast-paced world.
Knowing that the most movement is happening right outside my four walls and encourages me to get up and get out to share in the experience.
God speaks through nature and I care not to miss out.
My goal is to find the passion of photographing inside of me and in return reveal to my observers.
In doing so I am finding I am more at peace now more than ever before, It is now photography, all or nothing.
It is my solo act, a unique vision all my own. Where photography finally crowds out all the unnecessary from my life.
And so it begins...
Being a Floridian I have experienced some of the greatest opportunities available to a wildlife photographer.
Access to the Florida coastline and wildlife reserves are within a short distance of where I live.
Witnessing the many migratory birds whether coastal or inland has given me numerous hours of capturing these types of images.
This is one of the reasons I chose to specialize in bird photography, that and the sincere interest I have in these creatures. One thing I have learned and as any wildlife photographer would agree with is the fact that events will happen quickly and be gone. I have to admit many of my images happened because I was in the right place at the right time and I managed to walk away with some incredible shots.
But the desire to become better at my craft has caused me to study the world of other wildlife photographers in order to hone my own skills.
I am not caught up in the technical aspects of photography, simply because I think my life as a web developer has burnt that side of my brain. But I rather seek to create the art and have a genuine passion for nature and her ways.
I have held this domain name for quite sometime now and never done anything with it or this web site. Mainly because I built my career as owner of a web development company and designer taking care of other peoples sites until it took over.
Truth is I always had the desire to carve out a spot as a wildlife photographer.
And now, I have decided to reverse the action and go for it, sharing along the way with those who wish to observe.
